 Santiago, Atacama Desert and Patagonia.
Day 1 Santiago. Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to selected hotel. In the afternoon, city tour to the most interesting sites in Santiago, visiting Main Square, Cathedral, Post Office Headquarters, and Santiago City Hall. We will also see the Government House “La Moneda” and some of the older neighborhoods such as Concha y Toro Square. Afterward, we will take you to East Santiago, where you may appreciate modern buildings, with offices, apartments, shopping centers, and restaurants. Return to hotel and overnight.
Day 2 Santiago - Calama. Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Santiago airport for flight to Calama in the Atacama Desert. Reception at El Loa airport in Calama. Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama, via Domeyko Mountain Range. In the afternoon, excursion to Moon Valley, passing through the Salt Mountain Range, with a panoramic view of Death Valley. Visit to the high dune and to the natural salt monument “Las Tres Marias”. This excursion concludes enjoying a magical sunset, with a privileged view of the valley. Return to San Pedro. Overnight. Day 3 Atacama Desert. Breakfast in hotel. Excursion to Atacama Salt Flat, Chaxa Lagoon, and Flamingos National Reserve, to observe three out of the six different kinds of flamingos existing in the world. Transfer to the high plain lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques. Lunch in Socaire. In the afternoon, visit to the town of Toconao, San Lucas Church, and Campanario Tower. Return to San Pedro. Overnight.
Day 4 Atacama Desert. Early in the morning, excursion to El Tatio Geysers, the world’s highest geyser field, which erupts each day at dawn, creating unusual mineral formations and spouting high clouds of steam. Trekking to observe various geothermal activities. Breakfast and opportunity to bathe in natural springs. Return to San Pedro. In the afternoon, visit to Cejar Lagoon, located in the middle of the Atacama Salt Flat, and which has a floating level even higher than the Dead Sea, due to its high concentration of salt and lithium. You may take an amazing bath in its waters, and later enjoy Ojos del Salar (Eyes of the Salt Flat), two natural pools of fresh water. Return to hotel and overnight.
Day 5 Calama - Santiago - Punta Arenas. Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Calama airport for flight to Punta Arenas with connexion in Santiago. Reception at Punta Arenas airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight. Day 6 Magdalena Island - Puerto Natales. Breakfast in hotel. Morning sailing through Magellan Strait towards Magdalena Island. Disembark to allow interaction with the largest colony of Magellan Penguins. Return to Punta Arenas. In the afternoon, transfer by bus line to Puerto Natales. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 Torres del Paine Park. Breakfast in hotel. Excursion to Torres del Paine, visiting the Cave of the Milodon, where they discovered well-preserved remains of this prehistoric herbivore that existed 12,000 years ago. From here, journey will continue into Torres del Paine National Park, where we will visit Nordenskjold Lake, Pehoe Lake, and Salto Grande. Lunch. Trekking through a forest of lenga trees towards a viewpoint of Grey Glacier, with its impressive ice floes. Afterwards, visit to Amarga Lagoon and return to Puerto Natales. Overnight.
Day 8 Perito Moreno Glacier. Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to El Calafate in Argentina (360 km) and excursion to Perito Moreno glacier (box-lunch and entrance fees for National Park are included). Return to Puerto Natales and lodging (Optional: Overnight in El Calafate and the following day transfer by bus line to Puerto Natales, and bus line from Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas airport. In this case, transfer from hotel in El Calafate to bus terminal is not included). Overnight in Puerto Natales.
Day 9 Puerto Natales - Punta Arenas – Santiago. Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Punta Arenas airport by bus line for flight back to Santiago. Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to hotel. (Optional: Farewell dinner at a typical Chilean restaurant with folk music and dances. Including transfer out/in from hotel). Overnight.
Day 10 Santiago. Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Santiago airport for international flight. End of our services.
Note: Program can be modified to begin in Patagonia, depending on flight schedules.
