Santiago - Atacama Desert - Torres del Paine (10 days - 9 nights)

Chile is land of diversity and contrasts. Its geography distinguishes it from other destinations. The north, marked by the presence of the Atacama Desert; Santiago and the Central Valley, charactized by its Mediterranean climate; and the extreme south with Patagonia.

Day 01: Santiago
Welcome at Santiago airport and transfer to selected hotel. In the afternoon, city tour to the most interesting sites in Santiago, visiting Main Square, Cathedral, Post Office Headquarters, and SantiagoCity Hall. We will also see the Government House “La Moneda” and some of the older neighborhoods. Afterward, we will take you to East Santiago, where you may appreciate modern buildings, with offices, apartments, shopping centers, and restaurants. Return to hotel and overnight.

Day 02: Santiago - Calama
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Santiago airport for flight to Calama in the Atacama Desert. Reception at El Loa airport in Calama. Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama, via Domeyko Mountain Range. . In the afternoon, excursion to Moon Valley, passing through the Salt Mountain Range. Visit the great sand dunes, the amphitheater, and the natural salt monument “Las Tres Marias”. This excursion concludes enjoying a magical sunset, with a privileged view of the valley. Return to San Pedro. Overnight.

Day 03: Atacama Desert
Breakfast in the hotel. Excursion to the high plain lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques. Lunch in Socaire. Transfer to the Atacama Salt Flat to visit the Chaxa Lagoon, and Flamingos National Reserve, to observe three out of the six different kinds of flamingos existing in the world. Trip continues to the town of Toconao, to visit San Lucas Church, and Campanario Tower. Return to San Pedro. Overnight.

Day 04: Atacama Desert
Early in the morning, excursion to El Tatio Geysers, the world’s highest geyser field, which erupts each day at dawn, creating unusual mineral formations and spouting high clouds of steam. Trekking to observe various geothermal activities. A light breakfast will be served. You will then have the opportunity to bathe in a pool of thermal waters.Return to San Pedro, visiting the village of Machuca, formerly devoted to grazing llamas and today known for its adobe, cactus wood, and straw buildings and its Andean handicraft products. Return to San Pedro. In the afternoon, visit to Cejar Lagoon, located in the heart of the Atacama Salt Flat, with such a high concentration of salt and lithium that it makes floating easier than on the Dead Sea. You may bathe, swim, and float amidst a beautiful landscape. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Day 05: Calama - Santiago - Punta Arenas
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport for flight to Punta Arenas, via Santiago. Reception at Punta Arenas airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 06 - Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales
Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning, we sail through the Magellan Strait towards Magdalena Island. Disembark on the island to interact with the largest colony of Magellan Penguins. Return to Punta Arenas. Afternoon transfer by bus service to Puerto Natales (250 km). Overnight.

Day 07: Torres del Paine National Park
Breakfast in the hotel. Excursion to Torres del Paine, visiting the Cave of the Milodon, where they discovered well-preserved remains of this prehistoric herbivore that existed 12,000 years ago. From here, journey will continue into Torres del Paine National Park, where we will visit Nordenskjold Lake, Pehoe Lake, and Salto Grande. Lunch. Trekking through a forest of lenga trees towards a viewpoint of Grey Glacier, with its impressive ice floes. Afterwards, visit to Amarga Lagoon and return to Puerto Natales. Overnight.

Day 08: Perito Moreno Glacier
Breakfast in the hotel.Transfer to El Calafate in Argentina (320 km) and excursion to Perito Moreno glacier with box-lunch and entrance fees to National Park included. Return to Puerto Natales and overnight (Optional: Overnight in El Calafate and the following day transfer by bus line to Puerto Natales, and bus line from Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas airport. In this case, transfer from hotel in El Calafate to bus terminal is not included).

Day 09: Punta Arenas - Santiago
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Punta Arenas airport by bus line for flight back to Santiago. Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight.

Day 10: Santiago
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Santiago airport for international flight. End of our services.
